Dog Treats

I added some new dog treats to our little Etsy shop.  Dhali and Tibby are the official taste testers.  They tell me if it's a good recipe or not.  Tibby knows exactly what she likes.  She's picky.
They are, of course, all grain free and I don't add any sugars, salts or preservatives.  The dogs think they are yummy!  I have sold some and other dogs seem to love them too!

This is the link to our store - if you want to see Dhali and Tibby's 'official taste tester' pictures.  They are always the last / fifth picture.  Khyi - Kiyi  You may have to scroll down or go to the 2nd page.  Things move around when someone buys something.

Flank Steak and Russet Potato

Chicken Jerky - Original flavor

Chicken Jerky - Mint flavor

Pumpkin - Peanut Butter

The Two Opposites

A couple videos!

Dhali showing off what he can do at 9 months.  He's fast!  The first half of the video I have a few treats in one hand and no toy.  Most of the time he can play without a toy and without biting, but sometimes he just can't help himself.  Sometimes he is naughty - then he gets a time out.  He was much better after the time out.  It helps us both to regroup.  He thinks treats are OK, but running fast is so much more fun.  He could live without the treats.  A lot of times we run and play 'agility' without treats or a toy.  Just running around having fun.

Why are the weave poles in front of the tunnel?
Because I moved them over there, forgot they were there and then just left them, because they slow Dhali down a bit.  He's not really weaving, but it helps him to collect a little coming out of the tunnel.

So what is Dhali like at 9 months?  He is the cuddliest whiny nut job I know!
Right now he is leaning up against me with his head on my shoulder.  If he could read I would think he was trying to read this post!

He whines and complains a lot.  Sometimes I can figure out what he's complaining about, but other times he's  just complaining, because he wants to complain or he's bored.

He likes to bring me toys when he's bored.  We play tug and fetch.

He's always ready for a game.  If I even look like I might be thinking about playing he's all over me.  He's a silly happy guy.

Pretty much Tibby's COMPLETE opposite.
Except for the cuddling thing.  She slept on my chest for 2 hours Saturday when we were taking a nap.  She likes to be in my lap ALL the time and gets pretty jealous of Dhali. when he's in my lap instead of her.

Dhali smiles all the time and Tibby sighs all the time.  Glass half full / glass half empty.

I love them both - probably even more because they are SO totally different.

Silly Dhali.
And serious Tibby.  She knows how to do the teeter thatkyouverymuch.  They are both silly in their own ways!  She's so cute with her little attitude.  I'm not sure if you can hear it, but at one point when I try to get her to go to the other end of the teeter she huffs at me, "Duh, I know what I'm doing."

Just recently she's started to want to do some of the stuff Dhali gets to do.  She's really into heeling right now.  Not sure how she learned that, but she can even do backing up heeling.  I was very impressed with her!

After learning agility training with Tibby - slow speed.  I feel like I'm re-learning everything with Dhali - fast speed.

They are both good dogs :)

Countdown To Spring!

Cute picture, so you know he's still alive.

Haven't been on the blog lately.  Too busy with the Etsy thing.  Making new stuff and selling and packaging up orders and mailing.  Whew!  It's a lot of work!  Tonight I packaged up 7 orders.  So afraid I would mix the different boxes up.  Which would be bad.  Dhali was 'helping' by trying to get into the package with Green Tripe treats.  Amazingly he can find a box full of green tripe treats in a bag full of packages, but when we play nosegames he can't smell birch for anything!

I haven't felt like training Dhali very much.  We play every day, all the time.  Nothing formal.  I do a silly face and he comes running to wrestle.  It's really cute.  He's a player and not a treater.  Tibby 100% treater.  Dhali would MUCH rather play than do clicker games with treats.  Most training sessions with treats go like this - Dhali offers something kind of close to behavior a couple times, figures out what the behavior is supposed to be, does a wander around the room, comes back offers behavior, wanders around the room again, comes back for a treat, repeat.

Playing with a toy, on the other hand, is 100% focused and full of crazy energy.  Also, the biting me in the butt has gotten better!

This is why we play and aren't doing very many tricks.  Also, because I'm lazy.  And I like to play too.

Another reason I haven't been on blogger or reading people's blogs - I'm too competitive.  Any dogs close to Dhali's age that I would read about made me think - why isn't he doing that too?  Because he's the Dolla' Boy that's why!

Dhali has so many nicknames now.  Mostly I call him Dollar and then DB like deebee.  He responds to them too, so I must say it a lot!  Dollar, Dollar Boy, DB, Baby Boy, Dubya.  So I call Tibby - Tibber and Dhali - Dollar.  Hmmm, it works.

Tibby is doing very well.  She has developed a supreme fascination with the bunnies.  I moved the buns into a rabbit condo and she spends a lot of time watching them.  She still likes to do her own thing, but she hasn't had any more weird behavior in a long time.  She's not afraid of really anything.  She still doesn't like to go downstairs, but otherwise she's pretty normal.  Taking medication, but normal-ish.

I CAN NOT wait until spring!!!  Looking forward to running outside with the DollaWalla (look another new name!) and seeing if our lazy winter playing will turn into some 'real' agility.

Snowy, Again!

It snowed!  The dogs had a lot of fun playing and running around.  They are tired now!

Dhali had more fun than Tibby - he was running around by himself, being crazy and she watched him from inside.  Then when he came inside he had to hang out in his crate for a while, because he was TOO snowy.  Drip, drip, drip every where!  So maybe she had more fun than he did :)
